Before the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has once again suffered a major setback in Bihar. Bihar Congress leader Uday Singh alias Pappu Singh has left the party. He has cited Pappu Yadav’s entry in Congress as the main reason for leaving the party. He has also announced not to be a part of the Grand Alliance. He said that in 2004, when I was in Congress, the Congress Party was in alliance with Ram Vilas Paswan’s party, at that time also Pappu Yadav had joined LJP. I had resigned from Congress at that time also. He said that I will not be in the group where Pappu Yadav will be. On the issue of supporting Pappu Yadav, he said that I can wish well for the health of someone whose character I do not trust. But it will be difficult for me to get the blessings of such a person to lead Purnia.
Former MP refused to contest elections
Former MP Uday Singh alias Pappu Singh has announced not to contest the elections. He said that our entire focus will be on the upcoming assembly elections. Prashant Kishore’s party will form a strong government in Bihar by strengthening Jan Suraj Abhiyan in Kosi and Seemanchal in the 2025 assembly elections. Former MP Pappu Singh, while addressing a press conference at his private residence in Purnia, said that there are only two national parties in our country. One is said to be running up and the other is slowly falling down. In Bihar, both the national parties are standing on crutches. He said that regarding Narendra Modi, we hear that he is very popular and will be so, but no one is in Bihar without crutches. Congress Party is very strong in Bihar but no one is standing without crutches. Why would I mind if you stand on crutches?
Everyone is surprised by Congress’s decision
Former MP Pappu Singh said that in 2019, the Congress party had contested on 9 seats in Bihar. Leaving aside Katihar region, Congress got the maximum votes in Purnia. But the party, in its indifference, took such steps which surprised everyone. Congress gave a strong place to its ally Rashtriya Janata Dal. I have no objection to Rashtriya Janata Dal giving ticket to whoever it considered its own. But when I go to the area, all the leaders of the Grand Alliance who meet us say that they would have been more happy if someone else from the huge RJD family had got the ticket. While people are not happy with the selection of NDA, on the other hand people are not satisfied with the Grand Alliance. In the same ground, a gentleman (Pappu Yadav) is repeatedly talking about knocking. In such a situation, there is great disappointment among the people. We don’t have any option.
Law and order has deteriorated
Former MP Pappu Singh said that social tension had ended during my tenure. The ethnic conflict was over. Law and order had become better. But after 2014, whatever was approved by God happened. By the time I come to Purnia in 2024. Then we hear that things have gone wrong. We all know why it deteriorated and how it deteriorated. There is no need to say anything in detail. But in my long life of politics, the last two-three-four months have been the most difficult time for me. Every day hundreds of people lovingly ask me whether I will contest the Lok Sabha elections or not. If I fight, how will I fight?
